Top Sales in Technology (2011)

This list is going to be posted based on what product sold the best in 2011. This chart is also based on global sales, not just the United States.

fire_misfires.html

1) Amazon Kindle Fire: This is one of the few tablets that is doing well countering Apple's iPad. The Kindle Fire appeals very well to those looking to buy books, but those who want a more versatile tablet buy the iPad. The Kindle is, unlike other tablets, very easy to read in sunlight and is not entirely touch-screen based.

2) iPhone 4S: This phone is a lot like the previous iPhone 4, with the addition to a few utilities. This includes the very popular Siri. This brings app brings smart phones to the next level. Siri is voice commanded and will do anything from reading your texts for you to telling you the weather. In my opinion, I'm surprised this phone didn't do better.

3) Sidekick 4g: This phone did a lot better than I thought it would do at the start. This is a lot like the other phones that have touch-screens and a QWERTY keyboard, but you can touch a button on the back and it will flip open for you. I don't know very much more about this phone.

4) HP TouchPad: This is another tablet product that is countering the iPad, but it isn't doing as well as the Kindle. This has an app store and games and utilities on it, much like the iPad, but not as many apps and this is cheaper.

5)  Spd Shell 3d: From what is looks like, it seems to be an Android phone, but I am not entirely sure. The majority of the sales and articles on this Android was in foreign countries. I wish I could say more, but I honestly can't.

Microsoft vs. Apple

I have had more experience with Microsoft, but I am going to try to make this post as fair as possible. This is going to be about the products, not just the computers.

Microsoft:
Computers: Microsoft's computers tend to be cheaper IF you don't want their Microsoft Office software. Also, there is much more software available to those who want it on Windows computers.
Phone: The Windows phone does have a decent amount of people using  it, but it has only made a small dent in Apple's iPhone market.
Misc: Microsoft also has a gaming platform over Apple. Microsoft's Xbox has almost always been competing with Sony's Play station since it came out for the best gaming system.

Apple:
Computers: Apple's computers are more for people who are not going to be using it for games, editing programs not made by Apple, and other "demanding" programs.
Phone: The iPhone is currently DOMINATING the market of smart phones. Almost everyone in the United States has a friend or two with a iPhone right now, and my last post proves it.
Misc: Apple's other products, such as its laptops, are very light and very thin for what they can do. Also, some of Apple's products, such as the iPod, are also making other product out dated compared to them. With their extremely small design that still holds hundreds of songs, it's no wonder why.

If I've missed anything in this post, leave a comment and I'll be sure to add it. Also, which is your favorite company? Personally, I like Microsoft more because I'm a PC gamer.

How Many People Use Apple?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:
Apple_logo_Think_Different.png
Most people in the United States have some form of an Apple product that they use. It's not the overwhelming majority that has an Apple computer, but it's the ones that have iPhones, iPods, ect..  As a matter of fact, so many people have at least one of these products that Apple is upcoming one hundred million downloads from their App Store just this year. Microsoft tried to compete this with its Windows phone, but the iPhones still came out on top.

Even with the leading designer and CEO
of Apple recently passing away, I believe
Apple will still flourish with the foundation Steve
Jobs made. The creations may start losing
their cutting edge touch, but it will still be known
for its products with slick designs, easy to look
at, and still the biggest competitor on the
market.

The Biggest Name in Technology

The largest contributor in the field of technology is arguably Steve Jobs. He was grew up in California, in a place now known as silicone valley. He eventually made the first Apple computer in his garage. Apple then flourished, being the first computer that is compact enough to fit on a desk. This then allowed people to use computers in their household.

After that, Jobs pushed his company to do what was thought to be impossible, making great achievements. Jobs was the largest competitor with music on cassette tapes, eventually making it completely unused with the iPod. Jobs then continued pushing his company, making slick designs for both the exterior and the software of all of his products. He then upgraded on top of the iPod, making many varieties to fit the situation for each customer.

Sadly, Steve Jobs pasted away this year, 2011, but his creations and impacts have not been forgotten. Steve Jobs pushed not only his company's, but has also set human development of technology at a great pace. Steve Jobs gave us the joy of technology at an inexpensive cost that we
may not have gotten without him.
Several companies have refined his inventions and
make the technology field competitive which
means no one company is going to increase their
price. This is all thanks to Steve Jobs.

The basics of Technology

The basics of technology is, in my opinion, not all that complicated. The first couple you need to know is how technology works. Technology basically uses electricity and magnets to send information and power to other parts of the piece. Electricity and magnets together can make the electricity have a use, such as making a electric motor. Once you know the basics of electricity, you need to know how it helps you. If you have a computer for example, the information you create on the computer, such as downloading picture, will be saved on a hard drive. This hard drive stores information on a disk with a turning arm with a magnet on it. The disc will then spin with another magnet, allowing more information to be stored.

In conclusion, if you want to learn about technology, you should learn about electricity first. After that, you should look at how technology and magnets can work together to make great contraptions. Once you learn about how they work together, you can almost figure out how new pieces of technology work with each other, and what makes them so extraordinary. Have fun!

P.S. Make sure the technology is completely off if you are going to try to disassemble it.

My Interest in Technology

The reason I am writing a blog about technology is because it is becoming so common in modern society. I am also interested because of all of the uses for technology. In an everyday home, there may be one or two computers, maybe three televisions, and almost everyone in the home has a cell phone. This is why I am interested in technology. I want to learn the most I can about it, learn how it processes, learn how it's built, and so on.

Technology is mostly used for communication, but can also be used as a utility, transportation, ect. I believe that in the future, much more technology will be implemented that will have many more uses than just communication or just utility. As a matter of fact, we are already starting to see that with modern cell phones. Smart phones act like normal phones with their communication, but you can also purchase plugins for extra uses, such as utilities, entertainment, and so on. This is why I am so interested in technology.

About Me

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I plan on this blog being about recent technology and current trends. My name is Mason and I am fourteen years old going to Scarborough High School in Maine. Nothing I say should be taken 100% seriously, but my views should at least be acknowledged.

I will most likely be talking about the most competitive companies and their new products, but I will try to talk about new products from the smaller ones. When the holidays come around, I will probably talk about the best selling technology or toys. If you have any other suggestions, post them in the comments below. If I ever miss anything, please tell me so I can research and write about the facts for the next post.
